Akbar Hashemi Behrmani (3 Shahrivar 1313 - 19 January 1395), known as Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, was an Iranian cleric, commentator of the Qur'an and politician. He was the fourth president of Iran from 25 August 1368 to 12 August 1376 and before that, he was the first president of the Islamic Council from 1359 to 1368.
