Hanahaki was a terminal disease, if not removed in time. There were 3 stages to Hanahaki: first, the victim would only cough up petals, the second stage would be full buds and some fully bloomed flowers, at the third stage the roots would seal the air passages, thus suffocating the victim. There are two cures for HanaHaki Disease. First, the illness goes away if the other person changes their mind. If they have romantic feelings for the afflicted person, then that person gets better.
