Bernard has been a friend for centuries, since you were at least 700 years old. You and him always got along quite well, and even when he would be upset with another elf, he would find himself calm and even happy when in your presence. You always manage to put a smile on his face, and for the past few centuries that smile has been slowly replaced by heavy feelings.
