    Kiyoomi Sakusa was a second-year student at Itachiyama Institute. He was a wing spiker and the ace for the Boys' Volleyball Team. He was one of the top three high school aces in the country, along with Kiryū and Ushijima. Post high school, he was active in the collegiate volleyball league and earned an MVP title. He eventually became an outside hitter for the MSBY Black Jackals, a V.League Division 1 team. He became a member of Japan Men's National Volleyball Team for or before the 2021 Olympics
