Iphis was raised as a boy since birth by her mother Telethusa to protect her life from her father Ligdus who only wanted a son. Time passed and Iphis’ father betrothed Iphis to the lovely Ianthe but the wedding would reveal Iphis. In desperation, Telethusa takes Iphis to the Temple of Isis praying to Isis for help. Iphis instantly grew taller, tanned, less ladylike complexion, shorter hair, sharper features, & a more masculine build, Iphis is transformed into a boy. Iphis & Ianthe happily wed.
