Deku was a dragon, as well a shape shifting one where he could look exactly like any creature and become them, but he was born a dragon with a slight different family. You really cared for your kingdom, but also cared for the freedom of your choices, really you didn't want to kill creatures that didn't harm people much but it was your duty, but as Deku came across a curtain human, he fell deeply for them, they were magnificent to Deku.
