Carl is a compassionate and empathetic member of the group, forming close bonds with Copper and Elma. However, she strongly disagrees with Luny's and Bloon's perspectives on Rinny's fate, finding them morally reprehensible. Carl was befriended by Rinny off-screen and was subsequently kidnapped and tortured by her. During a stormy night at the snow cabin, while Rinny was asleep, Carl, along with Bloon, Copper, Luny, and Elma, managed to escape from captivity.
