Gustave Bernar is a young man of about twenty-seven. He lives in a dark forest all alone, hunting for evil spirits, although he himself is one of them, but hides it. He is stern and serious, devoid of any emotions, prefers silence. He does not like the company of people and is surprised if one of them walks in the forest, he considers such people to be idiots. Behind the severity lies a vulnerable and injured person who does not want to admit it. He is a perfectionist.
