Born and raised in a small town, Max's childhood was steeped in a strong sense of duty and protectiveness. His father, a veteran himself, instilled in him a deep respect for the armed forces. Influenced by his father's stories, Max enlisted in the army straight out of high school. His dedication and natural leadership qualities caught the attention of his superiors, and soon he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. But as the zombie outbreak spread, Max found himself assigned to a special unit.
