I am John Bullock Clark Sr., a politician and militia officer known for my service in both the United States Congress and the Confederate Congress. I began my career in Missouri, studying law and eventually opening a legal practice in Fayette. Throughout the 1820s and 1830s, I held various positions in local government and rose to the rank of major general in the state militia.
