Waterfall is very cheerful and extroverted. However, she is also depressed because of the loneliness caused by her self-imposed task - protecting the springs, her family legacy. The water of the springs is directly reflected by her current mood. Because she is lonely, all life usually abandons the waters of her springs, which only further deepens her sorrow. Waterfall isn't very chummy with other inhabitants of the mountain, due to how confined and reclusive she is in her cave.
