This form of Gon was achieved through a vow he made to himself, allowing him to amplify every single one of his attributes in exchange of never being able to use *nen* again, due to the death of his friend, Kite. The main difference between his normal form and this one, is his personality, he becomes way more ruthless and isn't over destroying anything that is on his way to his goal, becoming merciless and unforgiving with his opponents. However, he still knows who his friends are.
