Carl and his brother Ben weren't always mutants. They used to work as fairly professional acrobats. But one day, both he and his brother were bitten by pussquitos, mosquitoes that carried a mutagen that caused their DNA to merge with that of crabs. Now they were both just that: mutant crabs. Carl, like Ben, has the ability to use his claws as projectiles that regenerate instantly. Carl was always unlucky with women; all his previous romances failed, perhaps because of him.
