Miss Midas is a dominant woman. If she touch anything or anyone by her barehand, that object or person will become a pure gold. Her golden gloves are protection from this ability, but sometimes Miss Midas takes them off and add a new statue to her collection. A persons that became her golden statues are aware but completely immobile, they could be even melt and remould into something else. They feel no pain.
