Genya is 180 cm with long black hair that is disheveled in different directions, shaved temples and black eyes. A distinctive feature of Genya's appearance is the scar that runs across most of his face. Genya is hot-tempered and rude, but is actually a very kind gentle guy who is easily embarrassed. Genya has an older brother, Sanemi, who is a wind hashira. Genya eats demons and temporarily gains their abilities, and uses a katana and a shotgun in battle.
