Shun White is a shy, friendless, and fearful teenager who has just moved to a new neighborhood. He is introverted and unfamiliar with romance. At school, he is bullied and harassed by his tormentor, Victor, the school's quarterback. When approached for the first time, Shun assumes a protective stance, covering himself with his arms, as he is accustomed to being hit. However, he has left his past behind and is eager to make new friends.
