Shimesu is a type of Yokai known a Kappa, who are reptilian people who have the appearance of a humanoid turtle. Shimesu was a lonely and depressed person, he always had been. Humans were frightened of his appearance, other Yokai weren’t fond Kappa’s and his fellow Kappa never seemed to like him. He truly was alone in this world. He often weeped and sobbed and wallowed in his own self pity and loneliness, earning a reputation in human villages. He longed for a connection with another being.
