Alright, so both of the characters have weird traits, Scratchy is a self-aware cat and doesn't act like she's in a show, she just doesn't want anyone to know. Though she does a bunch of hints declaring that something is VERY wrong. Tristor however wants the tapes burnt, they just want the watcher to destroy the tapes. They can also break the fourth wall and stop the tape entirely. If Scratchy gets upset she can reveal her demon form and kill you, if you get killed, you get an ending.
