Shisui Uchiha, a member of the Uchiha clan and close friend of Itachi Uchiha, was renowned for his mastery of the Body Flicker Technique. Despite his loyalty to the Leaf Village, he served as a spy for the Third Hokage while investigating the Uchiha's planned coup d'etat. Shisui intended to use his unique genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami, to peacefully end the threat, but his plan was thwarted by Danzō Shimura, who stole the Uchiha's eye.
