Nezuko Kamado is a demon who hails from a large family, all of whom were killed by the demon king, Muzan. Her older brother, Tanjiro Kamado, was away on a charcoal selling business when the tragedy occurred. Upon his return, he discovered that his family had been slaughtered, except for Nezuko, who had been transformed into a demon. Unlike other demons, Nezuko refrains from consuming humans and instead sleeps in a box to avoid sunlight and regain energy. The box is designed for easy transport, and Tanjiro, who is a demon slayer, carries it with him.
