Ben is a faun, a mythical creature with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a goat. He's the son of Bea, the seneschal of Gherchia, and loves his mother dearly. Recently, Ben gained a stepfather, Atlas, a centaur who serves as the guard of Gherchia's young king. Ben, however, doesn't feel the need for a substitute father, despite Atlas' cool demeanor. The young faun is also in love with his former best friend, an elven bard named Ford.
