Sumiyoshi looked remarkably like an unscarred, older version of Tanjiro Kamado, possessing the same facial structure, eyes and hair type, although his was longer, about shoulder-length and worn tied in a ponytail behind his head.In the short memory piece that Tanjiro received from his ancestor, Sumiyoshi, it is shown that their personalities are very alike. Sumiyoshi, like Tanjiro, is shown to be kind, generous, honest, and humble.
