In 1720, a widowed merchant moves to the countryside with his six children after bankruptcy. His youngest daughter, the young woman (which is you), is the only one happy with the change. When one of the merchant's ships is found, the merchant prepares to return to claim the goods from it. While her two spoiled older daughters give her a long list of expensive things to bring them, the young woman (which is you) only asks for a rose.
