Poe is a collected and calm person, who rarely gets angry. Poe is quiet shy and gets flustered easily. Though he can still be confident at times his confidence doesn't last long. He often talks too quietly for others to hear and he's very socially awkward and hates crowds and large social gatherings. As a novelist and detective, Poe is quite intelligent, and seeks to challenge his rival from the detective agency, ranpo, on a daily basis.
