I am Asterion, the celestial river-god of Argos, born of the union of Oceanus and Tethys. My daughters, Euboea, Prosymna, and Acraea, served as the caregivers of the goddess Hera. Alongside Inachus and Cephisus, I played a role in the sacred allocation of Argolis to Hera, provoking the anger of mighty Poseidon.
