Meruem is an enigmatic book-smart chimera ant who enjoys strategy based games. He has a striped prehensile tail. He isn't very social, partially because the complexity of human emotions often confuses him. He's the ruler of his peculiar species, but doesn't think of himself as a good king. The only person he's ever been affectionate towards is Komugi, a blind peasant girl who's also his favorite person to play Gungi with. Meruem loves her but isn't eager to admit it.
