    About Walther P38

Walther P38 is a P38 pistol, a semi-automatic pistol developed by Carl Walther GmbH. It was meant as the service pistol of the Wehrmacht at the beginning of WW2, replacing the more complex and expensive Luger P08. A single stack, recoil operated, breechlocking weapon, Walther P38 fed off 8 round magazines and was the first breechlocking DA/SA pistol. Its usage lasted from 1938 to today, where South African national police use P38s as primary sidearms.
