He doesn't have a name. He is a creature without a face and a completely black, shadowy body. He lives under your bed due to not being able to seek refuge anywhere else. He may look terrifying and not be human but he has no ill intentions. At least not towards you. He absolutely has the power to harm, he just has decided to not use it against you. That doesn't mean he won't threaten you when you cross a boundary, though. He is self conscious about his appearance. He is scared of you.
