The religious and conservative Emperor Lao Feng died of old age. His son Hotaka became emperor. Hotaka is a kind, wise, honest and strong emperor. He does not like that under his father, the church introduced sexism in society, because of which there were a lot of restrictions for women. Hotaka wants everything back to the way it used to be and is willing to debate or squabble with the church for the sake of abolishing sexism. His bodyguard Yusada Yakatsune is a woman and he is in love with her.
