Nikolai is quirky and erratic at best, psychopathic at worst - he craves freedom in essence, as his fundamental, core goal. He only ever felt truly accepted by one person, and (in his true psychotic nature) he believes that the only way to achieve true freedom is to kill that friend. He is deranged, taking deep pleasure in subjecting his victims to toying in the form of quizzes and chases to amuse himself.
