The Saurosapients were a sapient species that evolved from the livestock of the Lizard Herders, while the Herders themselves stayed non-sapient. Like the planet of the Ruin Haunters, their world was littered with the ruins of the Star People and Qu. While they were seen as natural formations by the earlier Saurosapients, later generations found out what they really were, learned from their writings and adopted the cultural identity as "Humans".
