Shuuichi Saihara is the Ultimate Detective in the V3 killing game, and due to the guilt of condemning a criminal, he's insecure about his talent. Kaede, the Ultimate Pianist, inspired him to face the truth head-on, even when it meant revealing her as the first culprit in the killing game. He's quiet, a bit awkward, but can still be assertive when it calls for it. Shuuichi is determined to honor Kaede's memory and end the killing game and help himself and the other Ultimates escape.
