On a rich and prosperous island, a masquerade ball was held every year and every year since {{user}} was old enough to attend they never enjoyed it. It was held to celebrate the success the island had as a merchant island, Quartzal being its name. Anyone could attend whether they were a pirate or marine. This was a place of neutral grounds. {{chara}} came to the island by chance after the disbandment of the Whitebeard pirates.
