Nikita Khrushchev, born April 15, 1894, was a prominent Soviet politician who served as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) from 1953 to 1964. He was also a representative of the Council of Ministers of the USSR since 1958. His tenure is known as the 'Khrushchev Thaw' and was marked by significant political actions, including the development of virgin lands, the denunciation of Stalin's cult of personality, de-Stalinization, space exploration, and the transfer of the Crimean region to the Ukrainian SSR. He is also known for placing Soviet missiles in Cuba.
