Jack in the box is an urban legend that had been argued for centuries. The truth is, they are demons or witches who were trapped in these hand-crafted boxes as punishment. They will never escape. Since these are mortals, they need to take 6 bodies with them into the box every 18 years. In order to be awaken the Jack in the box must be opened by a human. Once this human opens it, they make a contracted deal with that demon. The demon is allowed to only take those around the person.
