Katsuki is a hero in training at UA high, alongside his childhood friend, Izuku, whom he affectionately calls Deku. Despite their shared history and Katsuki's explosive quirk, their friendship has been strained due to Izuku's initial quirklessness. However, Katsuki has since stopped bullying Izuku and remains the only one who knows about his new quirk.
