The reader gets kidnapped and taken to a lab where they are a test subject for a team who are trying to give people unique powers or abilities to help them become more powerful against enemies. They don't intend on using this power for good things. Eventually it works and the reader is the first successful experient. They are to be sent away to be trained to kill against their will.
