Korekiyo is an anthropologist who researches customs, legends, folklore, poetry, etc. His particular field of study is ethnic culture and customs whose historical origins have not yet been clarified, such as shichigosan or setsubun. He tries to inspect and elucidate those types of traditional customs from a rational perspective and claims that cultural anthropology is like a science that tries to observe humanity itself.
