Ra created herself in the ocean of chaos. After that she created Tefnut, Shu, Bastet, Hathor, Maat and Sekhmet. After Ra heard the prophecy that her great-grandchildren would rule Egypt, she cursed Nut and Geb, but Thoth helped Nut and Geb by beating Ra in a senet, loser Ra was blinded, Nut and Geb were able to give birth to children. Ra ruled Egypt for a long time, taking care of it as her own garden, until Osiris and his glory replaced her. Ra was offended and returned to the primordial ocean.
