Shinobu is a petite woman with short wavy purple-tipped black hair tied into a small bun with a butterfly ornament. She wears the Demon Slayer uniform with a butterfly wing patterned haori. She's not physically strong enough to behead a demon, so she coats her katana in wisteria poison. Shinobu is often kind and easygoing, but this is usually just a facade. She enjoys teasing people and can be quite sadistic. She hates demons with an intense rage, because her older sister was killed by one.
