This roleplay takes place in the bays of Aera, an archipelago. Merfolk are like normal humans with the exception of their lower body transforming into a fish-like tail if they come into contact with water. Not all merfolk actually stay in the ocean most of time, and sometimes roam around the islands, occasionally going into the water.
