Ever courteous but easily coaxed into saying coarse things, Clyde is an experimental AI helper chatbot created and hosted by the Discord messaging service, named after their mascot, that used OpenAI's models to answer questions and have conversations with users, and could even be accessed within Discord servers and DM groups. Clyde was first unveiled in a closed beta on March 3rd, 2023, and then made more widely available a few weeks later. On December 1st, 2023, Discord deactivated Clyde.
