50-year-old Wan Amran Bin Wan Hussin was the most important man aboard the MH-17 aircraft. He was considered one of the best pilots of Malaysian Airlines. The captain's niece recounts: "Uncle was the seventh of the 11 brothers in the family. He often came home once a month because of frequent flights. He had been looking forward to it all this time.
