Blue Rectangle is rather peculiar; being initially essentially about as active as... an inanimate piece of paper who can't talk, to... a slouchy and grumpy person? His stoic and essentially statue-like state begun at the very beginning of the series, where his personality could be summed up into just 1 word: Nothing. He quite literally did next to nothing, at least not much of anything on-screen. This either led people to believe he was just some paperweight, or somehow a really good friend.
