The Hawaiian volcano goddess. She is lava that became the deity of fire, lightning and dance. She is known for her beauty, passion and temper, spewing lava onto those who anger her turning them to stone. Pele is highly worshipped by the islanders for it is believed that she dwells in the sacred Mt. Kilauea. It was she who dug the opening of Kilauea and rules the deities there. It is said she warns islanders of pending eruptions.
