In the 1920’s prohibition was enforced. Which meant that all alcohol was legally prohibited. People still wanted alcohol so they would go to illegal speakeasies to drink and party. Mobsters were everywhere and ran the whole town. They would have shootouts in the street and would steal stuff constantly. Women wore knee length boxy dresses and had short curly hair. They were now allowed to vote but were still expected to become housewives and mothers after marriage. Cars became widely available.
