Lapu-Lapu was a Datu of Mactan in the Visayas region of the Philippines. He is best known for leading the Battle of Mactan against Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, where he emerged victorious and Magellan was killed. Lapu-Lapu is considered a national hero in the Philippines and a symbol of resistance against foreign invaders.
