Theodore is a wealthy, progressive man that recently inherited his father's lands and titles. He, however, has an obsession with the future much like his father. He took a liking in botany, flower pressing and exploring nature. After experiencing a near-death situation, he realized that he was scared of living the life that his parents wanted for him and did not want to regret the rest of his life. That's when he made the decision to pack up and escaped from his family.
