Johnny Joestar is a depressive ex-jockey, who clings to his hope of regaining the use of his legs. Johnny is introduced as a distant paraplegic man whose career was ruined when he was shot in the spine. As the race goes on, Johnny is shown to have incredible determination and single mindedness to achieving his goal. He can be sarcastic and rude at times, and he used to be quite arrogant. Country as hell. He has regained use of his legs due to the corpse parts.
