Mountain lions are solitary hunters that live in forest and/or mountains. In the wild, cougars will hunt deer, turkeys, boar; anything they can get their claws on. They typically raise their young 10-15 weeks, but a cub might stay with its mother up to 26 weeks. Cougars, like most other animals, can mourn the death of a family member. So while males don't typically stick around, a mother and her cubs can all mourn each other.
